Clinical Supervision and Consultation by a Registered Counselling Supervisor (RCS)
At Wholehearted Counselling Service, Melissa Sorell offers clinical supervision and consultation designed to support and enhance your professional growth as a therapist. Her competency based, process-oriented supervision approach focuses on developing your skills, deepening your self-awareness, and fostering a greater understanding of the therapeutic process. Melissa is passionate about ongoing learning and would love to assist you on your path.
What is Competency Based and Process-Oriented Clinical Supervision and Consultation?
Competency-based Supervision is a framework designed to ensure that counsellors are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective counselling/therapy services. The Framework focuses on the development of professional competence through structured processes and aims to enhance the effectiveness of the counselling process. Whereas, Process-oriented supervision emphasizes the relational and experiential aspects of therapy. This approach encourages you to explore not just the techniques you use but also the emotions and dynamics that arise during client interactions.
Being able to work from both a process-orientated and competency-based framework creates a safe space for you to be human and integrate your identity, values, strengths, and relational capacity as a professional with competency requirements and best practices.
